NEW Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr Creamy Mattes Review!

Maybelline have recently added two new Colour Tattoo Cream Eyeshadows to their already brilliant collection! Unlike the original colour tattoo's with added shimmer and metallic tones, these new duo are completely matte.

The first colour is Creme De Nude, a typical nude colour which is supposed to be a very good dupe for the MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre and the second colour is Creme De Rose which is supposed to be a dupe for the MAC Paint Pot in Painterly.

These two were £4.99 each from Boots and took a couple of shopping trips to finally find pots that were in stock/didn't have dirty finger prints inside and all over the lid!

Creme De Nude: When this was first swatched on the back of my hand when i arrived home it came out very orange toned. I was expecting more of an exact flesh colour, but with me being so pale i let this slide and decided too see how it looked on my lid. When applied to my lid without primer or moisturiser as a base this cream shadow felt really dry. The colour looked good on my lid though and much less orange now! I then reapplied this onto my lid when i had moisturised before hand and that horrible dry feeling was gone!

I 100% recommend if you have dry skin to wear a moisturiser underneath these! It won't affect the quality of the shadow and will stop it drying out your skin.

Creme De Rose: This is definitely my favourite of the two. It has exactly the same texture and consistency as Creme De Nude. It is a very natural colour and is almost closer than my eyelid colour than the Nude. This can be worn on it's own and creates a gorgeous pinky look to your eyes without making you look like Barbie!

I have worn these on their own and as a primer underneath regular shadows and i can definitely agree that they last! These cream pots simply do not budge which is amazing for the price of £4.99!

Pros:

  • Long lasting
  • Nice, neutral colours
  • Really good primer alternative
  • Affordable
Cons:
  • Drying if used without moisturiser

Swatches:

I would 100% buy more of these type of cream shadows if any more new matte colours were released! They are so good for the price and are suchhhh a good alternative to any eye primers i've tried!

Have you tried these before? What do you think! Let me know in the comments,
Chloe

September wishlist 2015!

This is it. We are already in the 9th month of the year and time does not seem to be slowing down for anything! We are now reaching the month where autumn begins to creep in, fluffy jumpers are pulled out and my cravings for a toasty hot chocolate increase dramatically.

I'm feeling a little beauty update and plan on altering my daily make up this month, so alot of beauty products are featured in this little wish list.

(L-R)

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz - £15.50
- My brows have finally grown out (yay) so now i need something a little more natural looking to give more gentle definition to my brows.

Next at home A-Z letter cushions - £10.00

Velvet Ghost throw - Primark - £10.00

Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer - £7.99
- As much as i love my Rimmel Wake me up, i need a little change and have heard good things about this!

MAC Look In A Box - pretty natural £29.00
Contains lipstick: pretty natural, lipglass: feeling fine and lip pencil: subculture

GRWM: Subtle Smokey Brown Eyes Tutorial

Hello! Today's post is a nice little get ready with me tutorial on how to create a soft smokey brown eye look that can be worn really subtly in the day time, or can be glammed up for a nice evening effect.

The first thing i did to create this look was apply my Urban Decay Primer Potion (original) all over my eye lid, up in my crease and just below my brow bone.

Next, taking my Makeup Revolution Flawless Matte Palette (£8) i applied the shade Flaw (top left) over the whole of my lid using a flat brush and up underneath my brow bone to add highlight. Next i took the shade Fawn on a fluffy short crease brush and dragged it through my crease, and slightly higher as i have hooded lids. I also applied this under my lower lash line too. After this i added the colour Earth gently through my crease to add a slightly darker colour with my fluffy brush and blended the whole look together.

After i applied my eyeshadow i had a bit of a strop applied my eyeliner. Usually when creating a smokey eye, before any mascara or eyeliner is added it looks abit weird. I usually start doubting myself and want to remove the whole thing, but it does get better!

Anyway.. I applied my eyeliner next, creating a gentle cat eye effect on the top lashes. I use the Maybelline Gel liner in black to create this. This look can be left at this for a casual look or liner can be added along the bottom lash line and gently blended out to create a more glam look, this is what i did in the pictures.

Next i used a thin coat of my Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara as a base, and on-top of this applied my Demi Wispies Lashes by Ardell.

To finish off the look i applied Chopper from Naked 2 by Urban Decay, over the top of the lid to create a subtle gentle shimmer, and added a tiny bit of the Mary Loumanizer Highlight by the Balm in my inner corner.

I hope you enjoyed this simple eye look! These are the posts i love doing more than anything so let me know what you think! Chloe :)

Maybelline + MAC Little Haul!

After a couple of recent shopping trips i noticed i had picked up almost all Maybelline products! Here are the reviews of them so far!

MAYBELLINE BROW DRAMA - Medium Brown £6.99
After seeing this product everywhere, i thought i'd try it out myself. I have over-plucked brows that are suprisingly long even with the sparse amount of hairs. This product is a coloured mascara and comes in various shades. It features a rounded brush on the end, making it great at grabbing each individual hair. This brow mascara completely changes the look of brows and it's unbelievably easy. The mascara thickens the appearance of the brow hairs by using fibres, very similar to the 3D mascaras. It honestly makes my brows so much fuller and coloured, when using this i don't need to use any other brow product at all! It fills all my eyebrow gaps and lasts all day without budging. A bonus is that this dries nice and smooth without leaving that crisp feeling alot of brow mascaras do.

MAYBELLINE FIT ME BRONZER - 100'S £4.99
I picked this product up at my local Keri-Anns discounted makeup store. I have spent so long looking for the perfect matte bronzer without any shimmer for my pale skin i know that is ridiculously picky. I picked this one up as i had never actually seen it sold anywhere else before. It has a powdery texture and lasts all day. The only colour available was 100. In the packaging it looked the perfect brown toned contour colour but when removed from the packaging it looks alot more orange, almost like a face powder. The product feels soft on the skin and even though i wish i had a darker shade, for £4.99 the quality isn't bad. It is really nice for contouring, however i'm not sure if i will be able to re-use on my skin as it's just slightly too orange. The package contains a bronzer, mirror and small thin brush which is actually really great for cheekbones.

MAC LIPSTICK - Viva Glam II, £15.50 (+ free false lash extreme black mascara)
I am so happy with this MAC purchase, that i'm seriously contemplating going and buying another incase this lipstick ever becomes discontinued. It is another nude lipstick typical me to add to my ever growing nude collection. This nude is slightly brown toned, and would look perfect on all skin tones! I would describe this colour as a lighter, less in your face Kylie Jenner lip. This is why i love it, it's subtle enough so you don't have people staring at your lips as you walk down the street yet it defines lips and adds a pretty nude effect to them. This lipstick is a satin, and lasts a good 4 hours without eating/drinking.

With my lipstick purchase i got a free sample of MAC's false lash extreme black mascara. This mascara is lovely, it's fairly thick and definitely lengthens and lifts the lashes. I'm not sure if i would purchase this myself as i already have a few mascaras that create the same effect (Younique 3D Mascara and Rimmel Scandal Eyes Mascara)

I hope you enjoyed this post! There are a couple of makeup tutorial posts coming up soon plus a haircare post! Also, let me know if you have found the perfect drugstore bronzer anywhere? I am desperate to find one that matches me perfectly! Chloe :)
