Another Incredible Must Have By Makeup Revolution!

Makeup Revolution. The British beauty brand currently storming the cosmetics market. Dupes? They have them. Cheap prices? Extremely. Good quality? Definitely!

Being a Makeup addict and creating eye makeup looks on Instagram (forgetmenotchloe) definitely not plugging my own social media, i am constantly on the look out for exciting good quality products that do not cost me an arm and a leg!

If i suddenly need a bright green neon eyeshadow, I'm not going to go out and spend £20 on a single from a high end brand. So this is where Makeup Revolution falls into place. This 'Eyes Like Angels Palette' I'm chatting about today, cost £8. For 32 shadows. Amazing!

The packaging is classic MUR packaging. Black and glossy with a coppery bronze logo.

Every single shadow in the palette is a foiled metallic or has a slight shimmer apart from the neon pink which is 100% matte.

I picked this palette for a good few reasons. I own the 32 shade 'Flawless Matte Palette' and even though i really like it, some of the colours are not as pigmented as i would have hoped. However i know foiled shadows tend to have much stronger pigmentation and can be brightened with fix plus or a wet brush!

These shadows needed no wet brush or fix plus at all. They are so creamy and buttery. I like to apply with my finger, as i feel this really picks up the most colour possible.

Favourite colours from the palette incorporated into makeup looks!

'Green Dream' (comes out a dark navy blue)

'Frosted Lilac'

'Sophisticated pink' (the reason i brought the palette!)

If you are into eyeshadows i seriously recommend this palette. It's a dream and for £8 you cannot go wrong!

Freedom Makeup Haul, Review and Swatches! ♡

After hearing that one of my favourite drugstore brands, (Makeup Revolution) created a sister company called 'Freedom Makeup' i was ridiculously excited! Makeup Revolution cosmetics make me happy. They are so affordable, and have some amazing dupes for popular high end products. I had a little nosey round the Freedom Makeup site on Black Friday and made a couple of purchases.

Freedom Makeup - PRO STUDIO Priming Water (usually £6 was £3 on Black Friday)

After having no success with spray on primers ever, and about 100 breakouts from them i was curious to try this one! This one can be used as a primer to create a base for your makeup or on the top of your makeup as a type of setting spray.

This lightweight water spray comes out the bottle effectively and i usually use around 3-4 sprays across my face. It dries really quickly allowing me to get on with the rest of my makeup! I have found it is nice and hydrating for my dry skin and honestly does leave a nice base for the rest of my makeup. My foundation definitely goes on smoother after using this spray. The only downside of this however is the smell. I think it smells quite similar to what i imagine toilet water to smell like yuckkkkk, however the product is really good and i will continue to use and repurchase!

Freedom Makeup - PRO Melts Lipgloss (Jammy Dodger) £3

When i ordered this it was purely for fun! I'm a nude lips girl and always will be, but as i'm trying to be a little more adventurous makeup wise and this was only £3 i thought why not!

The lipgloss goes on ever so smoothly. It is nowhere near as glossy and sticky as a gloss but gives a nice creamy sheen on the lips. The gloss is very opaque and creates a full lip coverage. I was so happy with the texture and smoothness of this lipgloss, it's gorgeous! It also lasts nicely and once dry doesn't leave you with horrible smudge marks. I was 10000% be ordering more of these in other colours (nude) soon.

Freedom Makeup - House of Glam Dolls 'Fairy Doll' Palette £8

Freedom makeup have currently teamed up with House of Glam Dolls to create 4 versatile palettes containing eyebrow powders, eyeshadows, highlight shades, a blush a contour colour and lipglosses. For £8 this is so worth the money!

I picked the Fairy Doll Palette purely for the gorgeous bright shadows! All of the eyeshadows apply really nicely to the lids and can be made even bolder by using a fixing spray on a brush when applied.

Here are the swatches for this palette (excuse the quality, Britain's weather does not want to play nicely with my camera and swatches)

Eyebrow Powders, Brunette, Bark, Mischief and Ebony.

Highlight Colours, Starlight, Light and Haze.

This is currently rivaling my Mary Lou! So beautiful

Eyeshadows, Cloud, Magic, Petal and Glade.

Eyeshadows, Sorcery and Bloom.

Eyeshadows, Pure, Fantasy, Ash and Jet.

Contour and Blush, Nature and Flutter.

Lipglosses (difficult to capture!) Spell, Believe, Enchant and Wicked

Lashes, Liner and the best Setting Spray!

Hello! I unfortunately caught the awful cold/flu bug going round so i apologise for a lack of posts in the past couple of weeks. Over the course of September i have been falling in love with the more simple makeup looks involving sharp black eyeliner and fluttery eyelashes!

I have been obsessing over lashes recently and as i'm creating more Blog and Instagram makeup tutorials, i feel my need to buy them is gradually increasing. Initially i was going to make a purchase of some Red Cherry Lashes, however as soon as i was ready to order i got overwhelmed by all the choices and put it off 'till another day. I went into my local cheap makeup supplier and saw some lashes by a brand called Amazing Shine Lashes. I ended up buying three pairs oops! These lashes are amazing. They are such good quality, come in all different lengths and styles and are only £2.99. I am so impressed with them and will 100% be making an order off their website very soon.

Winged liner is my holy grail. For 5 years i have been trying out every single eyeliner possible on the quest to find the best formula and brush to create a gorgeous sleek wing. I am currently using (and loving) the Anastasia Beverly Hills Waterproof Creme Colour in Jet. When i first purchased this i felt a little disappointed as it does dry out quickly. I use a felt tip liner pen dipped in micellar water to keep the product nice and hydrated. When used nice and damp, the liner is gorgeous, glides on smoothly and honestly lasts most of the day! I wouldn't say it was 100% waterproof but it is most definitely splash proof.

I picked up a setting spray from Makeup Revolution the other day for £5. I have never ever tried a spray of this kind before, and i am so impressed with this one! I was having a little look at the Urban Decay ones but the Revolution one is so cheap, and works so well that I am going to stick with this product! It's a strange feeling applying the spray, however it feels surprisingly moisturising yet not at all oily. It takes a couple of minutes to dry and then you are good to go. I use all sorts of primers, base layers and powders to keep my makeup intact all day yet it lasted even longer with this spray.

Get the look! Autumn brown eyes

Hello! Todays look is based around the gorgeous autumn tones appearing all over the country. This look has a strong focus on the eyes, which are a mixture of browns, shimmers golds and oranges, enjoy!

Step 1:
I started off with a completely dry face, i removed all of my old makeup using the Garnier Micellar Water. I then moisturised my face with the Blue Lagoon moisturiser, to give my skin a glowy look underneath my foundation. When that had completely sunk in, i then primed my skin using my Maybelline Baby Skin Primer.

Step 2:
Next i applied my Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation all over my face using my Nanshy Flawless Foundation Brush. This foundation gives a gorgeous glowy look without looking oily at all, and honestly lasts all day! I brushed on my Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer under my eyes and set it with the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder.

I next filled in my eyebrows using my trusty Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in soft brown. I also cleaned up just underneath my brows with the same concealer just to give my brows a more defined crisp effect.

I then applied the Urban Decay Primer Potion in original all over my lids to create a base for my eyeshadow.

Skin and brows done!

Step 3:
This is where the look gets exciting! I love doing my eyes so much i feel that the eyes just make a look stand out! Using my Makeup Revolution Flawless Matte Palette i used a mixture of Burnt and Rust (two gorgeous oranges) through my crease as a transition shade. I then took Tease from my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette and ran that through the crease to darken it up. I applied MAC All That Glitters over the lid, and then ran Earth from the MUR palette through my crease again to just add some more effect. I also applied this under my lower lash line.

I then winged my liner using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Waterproof Creme Colour in jet, and applied a coat of my Lash Sensational Mascara in Waterproof.

Step 4:
For the last steps of this look, i used my Artist of Makeup Cream Contour Stick in Medium to contour my skin and then my Makeup Revolution Contour Palette over the top to set it. I then topped off my cheek bones with the Mary Loumanizer Highlighter.

The finished look:

Thanks so much for reading! I enjoy posting these looks more than anything.

Ultimate contour and highlight products!

FINALLY. After so long looking for products to make my face look defined and angelic, i have found them! Say goodbye to muddy orange bronzers and glitterbomb highlighters, and hello to the perfect products of all time!

MAKEUP REVOLUTION ULTRA CONTOUR PALETTE £8.00
After seeing the official Makeup Revolution Instagram post announcing the arrival of this palette, i was literally jumping around the house, one of my favourite makeup brands was bringing out one of my favourite products!

The kit contains 2 matte highlighters perfect for under eye, 1 gentle skin toned shimmery highlighter, two gorgeous cheekbone highlighters and 3 contour shades.

The texture of these powders are amazing. They are unlike any other powder at all, and feel so smooth and creamy. They sit really nicely on the skin and don't have any fall out whatsoever. My absolute favourite shade is the second contour shade on the bottom row. It suits my pale skin so well and leaves me gently bronzed without looking like an orange or like i haven't had a wash for a long time!

Another favourite is the yellow toned matte highlighter second across on the top row. It's nice and light for applying on top of concealer and gives a gorgeous brightened effect. The shimmery highlighters are also to die for! I love the white and gold swirled one however the more bronzed one is honestly perfect. I recommend this product so much for a great contour kit and for the price of £8 you cannot go wrong.

ARTIST OF MAKEUP (ZUKREAT COSMETICS) CONTOUR STICK £18
I'm going to be honest, i  was slightly nervous ordering this product. From reviews online it looked so pigmented and strong i was worried it was going to be very brown and very dark on my pale skin. I was so wrong! Because this product is a cream stick, it blends in so well. It feels so creamy and hydrating. This is definitely a product i would use for special occasions as it's so lovely and makes such a difference to my contour routine. It is on the higher end of the price scale (for me, a massive saver) however it is 100% worth it!

THE BALM - MARY LOUMANIZER £17.50
I have spoke about this highlighter 100 times before and i'm sure alot of other people have too. But it's honestly gorgeous and you cannot go wrong with it. Its creamy and not too powdery, glowy and gorgeous and the packaging is just so fun. This adds such a perfect highlight to any look and is bound to get you compliments! There isn't much more i can say about this highlight as it is just an ultimate favourite, if you haven't tried it, please do you will not regret it!

Thankyou so much for reading! I am honestly so relieved i have found some great products for contouring and highlighting, it took a long time!

GRWM: Subtle Smokey Brown Eyes Tutorial

Hello! Today's post is a nice little get ready with me tutorial on how to create a soft smokey brown eye look that can be worn really subtly in the day time, or can be glammed up for a nice evening effect.

The first thing i did to create this look was apply my Urban Decay Primer Potion (original) all over my eye lid, up in my crease and just below my brow bone.

Next, taking my Makeup Revolution Flawless Matte Palette (£8) i applied the shade Flaw (top left) over the whole of my lid using a flat brush and up underneath my brow bone to add highlight. Next i took the shade Fawn on a fluffy short crease brush and dragged it through my crease, and slightly higher as i have hooded lids. I also applied this under my lower lash line too. After this i added the colour Earth gently through my crease to add a slightly darker colour with my fluffy brush and blended the whole look together.

After i applied my eyeshadow i had a bit of a strop applied my eyeliner. Usually when creating a smokey eye, before any mascara or eyeliner is added it looks abit weird. I usually start doubting myself and want to remove the whole thing, but it does get better!

Anyway.. I applied my eyeliner next, creating a gentle cat eye effect on the top lashes. I use the Maybelline Gel liner in black to create this. This look can be left at this for a casual look or liner can be added along the bottom lash line and gently blended out to create a more glam look, this is what i did in the pictures.

Next i used a thin coat of my Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara as a base, and on-top of this applied my Demi Wispies Lashes by Ardell.

To finish off the look i applied Chopper from Naked 2 by Urban Decay, over the top of the lid to create a subtle gentle shimmer, and added a tiny bit of the Mary Loumanizer Highlight by the Balm in my inner corner.

I hope you enjoyed this simple eye look! These are the posts i love doing more than anything so let me know what you think! Chloe :)
