Get the look! Autumn brown eyes

Hello! Todays look is based around the gorgeous autumn tones appearing all over the country. This look has a strong focus on the eyes, which are a mixture of browns, shimmers golds and oranges, enjoy!

Step 1:
I started off with a completely dry face, i removed all of my old makeup using the Garnier Micellar Water. I then moisturised my face with the Blue Lagoon moisturiser, to give my skin a glowy look underneath my foundation. When that had completely sunk in, i then primed my skin using my Maybelline Baby Skin Primer.

Step 2:
Next i applied my Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation all over my face using my Nanshy Flawless Foundation Brush. This foundation gives a gorgeous glowy look without looking oily at all, and honestly lasts all day! I brushed on my Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer under my eyes and set it with the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder.

I next filled in my eyebrows using my trusty Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in soft brown. I also cleaned up just underneath my brows with the same concealer just to give my brows a more defined crisp effect.

I then applied the Urban Decay Primer Potion in original all over my lids to create a base for my eyeshadow.

Skin and brows done!

Step 3:
This is where the look gets exciting! I love doing my eyes so much i feel that the eyes just make a look stand out! Using my Makeup Revolution Flawless Matte Palette i used a mixture of Burnt and Rust (two gorgeous oranges) through my crease as a transition shade. I then took Tease from my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette and ran that through the crease to darken it up. I applied MAC All That Glitters over the lid, and then ran Earth from the MUR palette through my crease again to just add some more effect. I also applied this under my lower lash line.

I then winged my liner using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Waterproof Creme Colour in jet, and applied a coat of my Lash Sensational Mascara in Waterproof.

Step 4:
For the last steps of this look, i used my Artist of Makeup Cream Contour Stick in Medium to contour my skin and then my Makeup Revolution Contour Palette over the top to set it. I then topped off my cheek bones with the Mary Loumanizer Highlighter.

The finished look:

Birthday Beauty Haul!

So, on Saturday i turned 20! I had a lovely day and received some gorgeous beauty items as presents. I also went shopping in Birmingham and brought a few extras, so here are my Birthday Beauty Haul items!

LOREAL INFALLIBLE 24HR MATTE FOUNDATION
I picked up this lovely foundation from Superdrug in Birmingham. I have to say, i am very impressed with it! When i first went to buy it, i wasn't sure if it was worth £7.99 as the bottle is fairly small however a little bit of this foundation goes a long way. It is soft and light and gives off a high coverage without feeling sticky or heavy. I thought it may dry out my eczema  prone skin with it being matte however it doesn't do this at all! I highly recommend this foundation!

MAKEUP REVOLUTION ULTRA EYESHADOW PALETTE - MATTE
I also picked up this palette from Superdrug. At £8, you cannot fault these eyeshadows at all, they are great! The palette contains 32 matte eyeshadows ranging from creamy whites, to carbon black. I knew i had to buy this palette, as every time i create an eyeshadow look, even if i am going for a full on shimmery effect, i love having a matte colour in crease for transition. There are some gorgeous unusual colours within the palette such as Rust which is a peachy orange, and Earth which is a purple toned brown. This gives you the opportunity to mix up your looks and try new things! The quality is great especially when teamed with a good eye primer. There is a small amount of fall out when applying these colours however it can be easily sweeped away with some concealer or micellar water.

NANSHY MAKEUP BRUSHES - GOBSMACK GORGEOUS FACE BRUSH SET
These brushes were a lovely gift from my boyfriend! I mentioned a while back how i would like to add some more of this brand to my brush collection and he remembered! This set contains the Buffed Base Brush, Conceal Perfector Brush, Angled Airbrush Brush and the Flawless Foundation Brush. These are honestly amazing! They are so so so soft and gentle. These brushes are alot bigger and chunkier than the luxury brush set yet still have the same great quality. The Buffed Base Brush is my ultimate favourite, it honestly works any foundation nicely into the skin without leaving any lines or brush strokes!

If you are looking to buy a new brand of brush i honestly recommend these 100%. They make my makeup application so much better and are all fairly affordable.

MARY-LOUMANIZER - THE BALM
Is this highlighter worth the hype and the money? Yes. It's amazing! It gives such a soft subtle golden glow without leaving your skin dried out or oily looking. It is such a pretty product in great packaging, it's one of those products that give off a little bit of something special and just make you feel amazing when you wear it!

MAYBELLINE COLOUR SHOW NAIL POLISH - CORAL CRAZE
I've tried these polishes before and they are great quality drug store polishes. This colour is nice and summery and light and gets alot of compliments! It only needs two coats to reach full opacity and is lovely and shiny too.

Overall, i got some lovely things for my Birthday that i cannot recommend highly enough! Do you have any products you have brought recently that you are loving? Let me know! Chloe :)

If you are ever near a Krispy Kreme store, buy some of their chocolates - they are delicious

How to: Soft Earthy Brown Eyeshadow

This look is so versatile and can be used in almost any situation. I glammed mine up with a pair of false lashes and a darker crease however with regular mascara and a lighter brown crease colour, this eyeshadow look is perfect for casual occasions too!

PRODUCTS USED:

  • Naked 2 Palette - Tease, Chopper and Snakebite
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion - Original
  • Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer - 010 Ivory
  • Catrice Highlighter - 010
  • Ardell Lashes - Demi Wispies
  • Loreal Super Slim Liner
  • Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara
  • Nanshy Eye Brushes

The first thing i did to create this eye look was apply the primer potion all over my lids and my lower lash line.

Next i applied Tease from Naked 2 in my crease with a fluffy brush

Then i took Chopper from Naked 2 and applied that with a crease brush all the way through my crease and slightly above. I also dragged this out underneath my lash line.

I took Snakebite which is also from Naked 2 and applied this dark brown into my crease, i then blended this with copper so it didn't look blocky. I then took Tease and applied this with a a flat brush all over my eyelid.

I did a small wing with my Loreal Super Slim liner, and also lined just under my waterline, to make my eyes look bigger.

I used a small coat of the Rimmel mascara before i put on the lashes.

The last thing i did was take the Catrice highlighter pen and put that right into the inner corners of my eyes to brighten them up!

Excuse my brows! I tried airbrushing them out but it made them look worse! Growing them out is so annoying.

I hope you enjoyed this look! It's so easy but looks so nice. Chloe :)

The best makeup brushes ever?

Hello! Today's post is one i have been meaning to write for a long time.. but because i'm lazy and was avoiding washing my makeup brushes big time, it got slightly delayed! However i washed them all at the weekend and managed to get some pictures before they all turned orange/sparkly so here it is! Are these brushes the best makeup brushes ever?

These brushes are from the brand Nanshy and my set are the Luxury Makeup Brush Set, priced at £34.95, for this price you get 13 beautiful brushes and a fold up padded carry case for them, i got these at Christmas from my lovely boyfriend and just cannot get enough of them! The brushes have synthetic hair, are 100% Vegan and also are cruelty free.

These are possibly some of the softest makeup brushes i have ever felt! The handles are smooth and comfortable to hold for long periods of time (eyeshadow blending brush haha!)

Brushes the set contains:
Flat foundation brush - This one i find is perfect for applying light foundations/BB/CC Creams

Flat topped round foundation brush - This ones my ultimate favourite! Its amazing for buffing in foundation, contouring and even applying blush

Fluffy Brush - This ones perfect for powders of any sort, its nice and fluffy and gentle

Fluffy angled brush - I use this one for blush mainly, but its also great for powder highlights

Fluffy brush, flat topped foundation brush, angled brush and flat foundation brush

My ultimate favourite from the collection!
Big flat eyeshadow brush - This one is so good for when you want to apply colour over the whole lid

Smaller flat eyeshadow brush - This one is exactly the same as the big one expect its more precise and can be used under the bottom lashes to add colour

Small hard round brush - Another one of my favourites, this brush is so good for apply crease colours, it picks up alot of product and is small enough to run right through the crease

Fluffy blending brush - This ones amazing! It blends ever so well and is so soft light and fluffy

Angled eyeshadow brush - This ones nice for outer V, i think its too big however to use in the crease

Eyeliner brush - This one is nice, good for applying gel liner however it stains very easily and i have found a couple of the bristles have frayed

Angled eye brush - I use this personally for eyebrows however it could be used for liner too! This ones amazing, it never moves out of place and the angled line is so perfect and thin

Concealer brush - This brush is very versatile! Its great for apply concealer under the eyes and brow bone however its also good for eyeshadows, highlights and dusting off any fallout under the eyes

Double sided eyebrow/lash brush - This was a nice addition to the set, it works well and is nice that its double sided!

Small flat eyeshadow brush, Big flat eyeshadow brush, Fluffy blending brush and Small hard brush

An absolute plus side to these brushes is the fact that when you wash them they return back to the original colour completely! I always forget how nice and white they are till they get cleaned.

You can buy many other sets of brushes from this company, including other white ones and black ones too. They also sell brushes individually.  I've hinted at my boyfriend that i'd like the ultimate face set for my birthday present as i just love these brushes so much! They are definitely my favourite ones i have ever tried and will not be looking for a new brand of brush any time soon!

Do you have a favourite brand of brushes that work well for you? Let me know! Chloe :)
